Dealers:

Aquacadabra: Edinburgh based dealer,have a really nice Marine room just opened, though stock was not stunning. Also have a huge range of dry goods and supplements. Worth a look.

Aquatic Rooms: Edinburgh based dealer, Marines started in a promising fashion but mostly shutdown just now while they set up a centralized filtration system. Last visit Marines were in a very poor state- hopefully this will be recified sometime soon. Friendly dealer however

Aquarium Design Centre Glasgow: Another Paisley Road West dealer. Some nic eclean tanks with some nice looking marine fish, but mainly a tropical dealer, again worth dropping in , while in the area, but not worth visiting specially .

Calico: Possibly one of the UK's biggest Marine Only dealers. Just off the M6 at Plumpton, near Penrith. Huge filtration system and newly opened holding area. Very Highly Recommended.

Clearwater: The most amazing stock I think I have ever seen in the UK. Not as big as some above but for sheer diversity has to be up their. Unfortunately, though I have been int he place (In Leicester) due to travel arrangements was unable to "sample their wares!" Very Highly Recommended.

The Coral Reef Aquarium: Glasgow dealer in Paisley Road West. have been making improvements of late, seem to get some unusual specimens from time to time, worth a visit if in the area.

Fit Filtration: Small dealer and system builder based in Castle Donnington. Amazing show tank and some nice stock though never bought anything- worth a visit. Website is currently unavailable- if someone knows otherwise let me know. Recommended

Misko Aquatics : New "upstart" dealer in Hillington area of Glagow. Hard to find but worth a visit. Dry goods not brilliant yet but livestock very unusual, certainly starting to see things never before sold north of the border. New Corals room being constructed. Cannot take Credit car dor Switch at present which is a pain. Highly Recommended

Seven Oaks Tropical Marine (STM): Never visited the place but have bought odd livestock from STM and very good service. Recommend their Mail Order and people I know say the shop is good. Have in house coral farming operation. Recommended

UK Marines: At one point this was possibly the best Marine specialist I had been in, however financial difficulties I beleive befell them and Roy Meeke the renowned Marines expert no longer manages the place. No idea what its like now but might still be worth a visit. Roy has new premises nearby that I have not yet visited.

Ultimate Aquatics: Probably the best dealer in Scotland at this moment very helpful, high quality stock, though a little pricey (note they dropped the "Discount" from the name! Now regularily directly importing sps. Highly Recommended.

Watford Aquarium. Very useful source of supply for parallel import goods, IKS, Deltec, and especially VDL Pipework etc, though apparently not officially allowed to show some of this on the website. I have used their Mail Order on a number of occasions, can be a little erratic, but you always get your bits. Recommended

Waterworld Aquatics: Small Glasgow based dealer (Paisley Road West) now with a web presence. Very friendly and down to earth, gets shipments of sps from time to time, Recommended. Has recently expanded basement to Marines only, with some nice stock arriving regularily. Highly Recommended

Mail Order Only

Aquatics Online: Can usually undercut most LFS's on most drygoods, especially useful on orders over £30- free P&P. Good source for Compact Blue flourescent bulbs for Giessmann light units!

ReefCreation: Primarily mail order one man band (Ed Miller) enterprise. Directly imports some superb farmed corals from Bali, also a selection of discounted or hard to get dry goods. Worth a visit to Ed to see his astounding 1000Gallon reef tank. Very Highly Recommended.

D&D Aquarium Solutions: Official UK distributor for Deltec, Rowa and IKS, UK rrp and data on products here. Run by the well known aquarist come millionaire David Saxby.

Labpak: Chemical supplies- discount source for Lab grade Calcium Hydroxide (a years supply for about £10!), Magnesium, Citric Acid, Buffer tablets, Lugols Solution etc. Highly Recommended. £50 online minimum order but will supply smaller amounts by telephone order.

Mycoal: Supplier of heatpacks for shipping Auatic livestock. Recommended.

Radiospares: Supplier of components such as float switches, water solenoids, gas solenoids, relays, peristaltic pumps etc. Recommended.

Screwfix Direct: Discount supplier of electrical and plumbing goods, plus lots of useful bits and pieces- £50 minimum order though!

Excellsior Rotational Mouldings: Supply of food grade plastic tanks ideal for the larger sump project! reliable supplier.

Fast Light: Quality 250w and 400w Aquabay marine lighting systems for your marine tank, reef tank or aquarium. 150w, 250w and 400w BLV, Radium and Iwasaki 5,200k, 6,500k, 10,000k, 20,000k and 50,000k single or double ended metal halide lamps E40, Rx7s or FC2 . Arcadia series 3 lighting units. Light switching timer contactors, 24 hour timers. UK next day delivery. No personal experience with this firm but seem well priced.

Andy Hipkiss' website- lots of extremely useful chemistry info relating to reeftanks. Don't miss the Balance Calculator or the Magnesium Supplementation calculator. Very Highly Recommended

Reef Central Bulletin Board. Uk version of above- huge in scope lots of gen, too much to wade through unless looking for something specific at times though.

ReefsUK: UK based bulletin board and website- not brilliant but has some good coral propogation resources.

Ultimatereef Bulletin board. Best source of info in UK on reef related material. Good bunch of guys (and girls!) worth a visit or three- see you there.

Ebay: Need I say more- always worth a look for a bargain
